COURSE CREDIT DETAILS
This course is approved in British Columbia for 1 (one) hour of CPD credit.
Members of the Law Society of Saskatchewan are no longer required to submit CPD activities for approval by the Law Society. Members must continue to complete and report (in their Member Profile) at least 12 CPD hours (including 2 which qualify as ethics hours) in 2024.
The Law Society of Manitoba does not formally accredit or pre-approve any programs for CPD reporting purposes, instead, it is up to practicing members to determine if a particular CPD activity meets our requirements, and if so they may report those CPD hours.
The Law Society of Ontario, Substantive Hours do not require accreditation. However, annually, lawyers should conduct their assessment and confirm that their CPD programs or eligible activities maintain or enhance their professional knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the context of their practice and professional development.
MEET THE CPD PRESENTERS
Christy Pratt
RCR, RPR, CLR Vice President Veritext Canada
Christy Pratt is the vice president of Veritext Canada, the national leader in legal technology and e-solutions. Before joining Veritext she was the owner of Reportex Agencies in British Columbia for over 15 years. Christy has been a realtime reporter for nearly 25 years, with a special interest in Aboriginal rights/title and Charter challenge cases. Most recently, Christy reported the Thomas and Saik’uz First Nation v. Rio Tinto Alcan Inc. e-trial in Vancouver, which ran for 189 days.
As an expert in realtime reporting Christy regularly presents webinars and workshops for trial lawyers and their support staff on the benefits of realtime and how to effectively conduct electronic trials.
Mike Murray
Director of Technical and Creative Solutions Veritext Legal Solutions
Mike Murray’s technical expertise includes proficiency in software across the entire spectrum of legal applications. As the former president and founder of the realtime software company, Transcript Manager Pro, he is also an integral member of the Veritext product development team. This team is dedicated to examining industry and technological trends in order to create leading edge programs and applications to facilitate the litigation process.
In addition, Mike travels throughout the nation providing expert, informative, entertaining and educational CLEs, educational instruction, and product demonstrations to legal professionals. He is a regular speaker at a variety of legal events.
